With Floriday Daytrade, we combine the advantages of auction logistics with the flexibility you as a grower are used to in direct trade. Market your supply earlier, reach more buyers, deliver greater volumes to the hubs and have Royal FloraHolland take care of logistics.

Access to Floriday Daytrade

If you want to use Floriday Daytrade, you need to register your organisation for this via the queue. This can be found at the top right of the dashboard. Once you have been accepted for Floriday Daytrade, you will be contacted by a member of Floriday staff.

Please note!
Floriday Daytrade is currently only available at our hubs Rijnsburg, Naaldwijk & Aalsmeer hub. In Aalsmeer, Daytrade is currently possible for certain product groups (all product groups of Veilingklok C06). Other locations will follow.

The following actions are explained on this page:

Want to know more about the rules of participation and supply requirements for Floriday Daytrade? Then read this article.

Please note!

If you are going to use Daytrade, make sure you inform your carrier! SSCC labels are used instead of a regular letter.

Creating supply for Daytrade

Early in the day, you make your batches available for Daytrade in Floriday. These numbers are based on a commercial estimate and you can adjust it further during the day.

Go to Supply > Daytrade in the menu. In this screen you can directly create batches for the Daytrade. When you first start using Floriday Daytrade, it is important that you set the settings for your auction location(s) and delivery time(s) correctly.

By clicking the gear icon on the right, you can set the auction locations. This allows you to specify which hubs you want to deliver to and when.

With the distribution times you set the latest possible purchase time for the garden and when the delivery will be made to the RFH Hub.

When multiple locations are possible for Daytrade, you can set it up so that the prices for one location are entered and the other locations follow that price.

To create a Daytrade offer, go to Supply > Daytrade in the menu. You are directly in the screen to create the batches.

From this screen you can directly create supply for Floriday Daytrade. Make sure you have selected the correct stock location, if you have multiple of them. Then choose the button Create batches at the top right or duplicate batches from a previous day.

You will arrive at the screen where you can select items. You enter the number of packages. For the recognition of the parties, it is useful to enter a reference (this reference is visible as a service code on the invoice). Then click on Confirm.

Offering batches

Numbers and prices can be flexibly adjusted by you. During the day, you receive order requests from buyers on these batches. You then bring your commercial stock to your chosen Royal FloraHolland hub. Royal FloraHolland logistics delivers these orders where we offer buyers a wide range of delivery times.

Buyers who still want to purchase after the auction closes can also do so via Daytrade. These are Priority deliveries. As a grower, please ensure you can check in your carts with RFH between 4:00 and 9:00 AM. This way, RFH's logistics team can deliver the goods to the buyer via Priority before 12:00 PM.

Please note!

For Priority deliveries, please ensure your items are at the location before 9:00 AM to prevent order cancellations.

You have just chosen to offer via Daytrade from the stock. At the top of the screen you will see From garden, Distribute and Auction location, below that you will see the batches on the stock location of your organization. Via the second field you can switch stock locations, if you have multiple.

Please note!
Offering for Daytrade is done via From garden. When you later allocate the batches to the hubs, you can make later changes at Auction location, such as the clock presale price.

Now that you have made these settings, you can start offering via Daytrade. The total number of batches in stock is listed under Offer. This number can be adjusted, for example if you do not want to offer everything at once. After adjusting, you can save the changes via the Save button at the bottom.

Then you fill in your further sales strategy. For example, you choose the pre-sale price, minimum clock price and minimum percentage that you want for the clock.

Example: of the 70 packages I have in stock, I will offer 50. I reserve 20% of them for the clock. This results in 10 packages being in the Pre-sale in the Explorer at the time of saving.

Once you click Save, the batches you have offered through Pre-sale will become visible in the Explorer. Even if the products are still at your location! This gives buyers more time to purchase the products.

Distributing daily stock

At the last moment before your goods are being picked up, you divide the final numbers per Royal FloraHolland hub. You also have the option to still choose not to send anything to a hub.

Please note!

If a purchase has already taken place at a hub, you as a grower have a delivery obligation. You must then deliver to this Royal FloraHolland hub.

You can distribute the batches at Offer > Daytrade > Distribute. You have the option to manually enter the quantities yourself or set an automatic distribution. You can choose to make a distribution on different hubs or choose one hub.

If you want to distribute quantities automatically, choose Automatic distribute. You have the option to also have this remembered, so that it always fills in the quantities. The quantities are filled in, but you still have to create the deliveries later.

After distributing, you can click on the Add delivery orders button at the bottom.

As soon as deliveries are known, they will appear at the top of the screen under Unfulfilled Daytrade deliveries.

Once you've distributed the remaining quantities, you can select Add delivery orders again. If you don't want to include this remaining stock, you can choose to make a correction to the stock or mark it as sold out in the From garden screen.

By clicking on a delivery at the top of the distribution screen, you will first see a summary of the delivery orders. Click on the button Create delivery orders to fulfill the orders.

You will then go to the screen where you can fulfill the delivery and print the stickers and the letter.

You handle the deliveries as you always do. When handling the delivery, the stickers can be printed. This is important to report the batches correctly. When saving and submitting the delivery, the SSCC label for the cart can be printed.

The sticker size (SSCC label) that is generated in Floriday is 50 x 40 mm (horizontal). This fits well on a sticker with the size 60 x 40 mm (horizontal). A sticker printer is required to print these labels.

Please note the following points:

  • The regular supply regulations for the clock apply.

  • Indication of the products:

    > For flowers: each package is given a product label (incl. administration number, company name, cultivar name, number per package, relevant sorting characteristics)

    > For plants: product label is not necessary

  • A clear marking must be placed on each first package of a new batch to indicate where a new batch begins, e.g. with a (coloured) sticker

  • Each load carrier is given an SSCC label

Please note!

Each load carrier must also have a reference (letter) for the clock. At Daytrade, this is done using the SSCC label. Therefore, each carrier must have an SSCC label.

Potential purchasing power

To gain insight into your potential selling power, you can use the Purchasing Power Meter. Enter the time you enter prices per hub and the date of your last possible supply. Based on the available data in Floriday, an estimate of the purchasing power is created.

You can find the Purchasing Power Meter under the auction location settings button.

Use the sliders to set the time for determining prices and the last possible supply using the last dot.

The sooner you enter prices and the later you assign products to a location, the greater your potential reach.

Tips for getting more Daytrade orders:

  • Enter your prices as early as possible

You don't need to know exact quantities yet to already be visible on the marketplace. Based on estimated quantities, you can market your products early. Rather use conservative estimates, as there is a delivery obligation on orders placed. Later in the day, for example after harvesting, you can adjust the quantities.

  • Offer a wide range of products

You don't have to make a choice at the time of offering yet of which, if any, of your products to clock. So put a wide assortment on the marketplace. Only products that are actually ordered should you deliver to the selected hub.

  • Work with multiple hubs

Each hub has its own group of buyers. By making your assortment available on multiple hubs, you extend your reach. Keep in mind that you have delivery obligations for orders per hub. You can choose to further supplement the cart with products you want to clock on site.

  • Order pick as late as possible

The later in the day you pick orders, the more purchasing power you can utilize. On weekdays, purchasing power often peaks between 16:00 and 20:00. If you can deliver after that time, you increase your chances of getting additional orders.

Tips and tricks

The information for the clock (minimum price, minimum percentage and expected auction date) can be adjusted until 4:00 PM before the relevant auction day.

Please note!

At 16:00 PM the information for the clock will be definitively offered. From this moment on you as a grower can still adjust the auction order yourself, if you want to. This can be done via the settings button (button with the gear) at Supply > Auction. If you choose the bottom option (Sequence based on manually determined characteristics), you can change the auction order yourself by dragging the batches.

Want to change the auction date? You can do so on the auction location screen. Use the last column to change the date to your preferred date.

The clock pre-sale price can be adjusted up/down at any time (even after an order has been placed). You can do this in the screens under the Auction Location tab.

Via the tab From garden you can also easily correct the stock of your offered batches. This makes it extra easy to adjust the stock during the day. In addition, you can also set the batch to sold out, if it is going a little faster than expected.

Want to draw buyers' attention to supplies online? At Auction > Clock pre-sales you will find the share button, which allows you to copy a URL which you can send. This sends them to your specific supply. You can share this link via Whatsapp or e-mail, for example.
